Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FLORIDA of NAVSTA MAYPORT. Responsibilities You will assign work to junior firefighters or employees based on priorities, requirements, and capabilities. You will collaborate with fire fighter personnel to ensure emergency responses (e.g., fire suppression, injured victims, hazardous spill cleanup) are assigned. You will modify the scope and purpose of a fire protection training program to correct deficiencies identified during live firefighting operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1. Provides immediate oversight and direction of day to day operations at a fire station for an assigned shift. 2. Performs supervisory duties 25% or more of the duty time. 3. Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities and deadline selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments. 4. Directs and participates in practice drills and training classes or assigned station.
