A challenging opportunity is available for a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player to fill the position of Government Operations Consultant I at the Florida Park Service District 1 Administrative Office. The office is located in St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, Florida. This position reports to the District 1 Bureau Chief.

Pay:

$3,276.73 month/$39,320.81 annual

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.

Serves as the HR coordinator for the Division of Recreation and Parks District Office, consisting of personnel management of approximately 175 full time employees in addition to varying numbers of OPS employees depending on the time of year, and in certain instances volunteers. Provides guidance and expert advice to park management and administrative staff in each park within the district for all HR related topics. Acts as the HR liaison between district staff and the Division of Recreation and Parks HR office and DEPs Bureau of Human Resource Management.

Coordinates with over 35 parks to conduct recruitment, advertisements, hiring, promotions, reassignments, retirements, terminations and voluntary demotions. Oversees employee confidential information to include social security numbers, information protected from public records, employee personnel files, medical information relating to workers comp, FMLA, medical monitoring and other information that may be included on employment applications. Provide support to park management and District staff for FTE/OPS timekeeping issues. Oversees performance evaluation reporting for all positions within the District. Oversees position descriptions for all positions within the District, working with Park Management to review and amend as necessary.

In addition to the HR responsibilities this position serves as the travel administrator, media liaison, coordinates monthly reporting from Parks, and maintains the emergency contact list. Records all District meetings and distributes information as applicable. Administers housing perquisites, shoe allowance, uniform ordering, ordering of office supplies for the District Office. Maintain prenumbered/secure inventory items, and District records retention.

This position also handles special assignments from District management and Tallahassee offices as assigned and other duties as assigned.
