$38,542.40 – $43,925.21 Annually $1,482.40 – $1,689.43 Bi-weekly

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for purchasing and recommending the acquisition of needed supplies, equipment, and services for Sunland.

The Work You Will Do

Screens requisitions to determine method of procurement by analyzing cost and specifications. Prepares purchase orders and ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency policies and procedural practices and guidelines.

Researches and develops specifications for assigned contracts, supplies and equipment. Gathers information from various departments on purchase requests to determine quality levels best suited for the purpose intended. Prepares correspondence and/or develops written reports of findings and recommendations.

Independently prepares formal sealed bid specifications and documentation, establishes files, and solicits bids and requests for proposals.

Acts as a resource to provide technical assistance and instruction to Sunland staff regarding purchasing questions. Assists all departments/facilities center-wide in resolving purchasing matters with vendors.

Monitors and performs follow-up activities necessary to ensure timely delivery of orders.

Conduct, reviews and provides analysis and submits written reports as assigned. Ensures proper maintenance of all records and files.

Maintains MFMP vendor lists and creates files. Input new vendors into these systems as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred but not required: At least one (1) or more years of experience with MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP), the State of Florida’s eProcurement system, along with three (3) or more years of experience entering purchase requisitions in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing

Ability to apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the purchasing process

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities

Ability to maintain purchasing records.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
