Title: SUPERVISORY SALES ASSOCIATE (Cosmetics & Fragrances) – Full-Time w/Benefits Location: United States-Florida-Pensacola Job Number: 240003MO Job Summary: As a Supervisory Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company to both associates and customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service: Proactively engage and connect with customers. Ask questions and listen to customers needs. Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers (STAR card). Provide premier customer service. Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships, taking accountability for your own actions and outcomes. Organization – Maintaining Store Appearance: Ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing. Sales: Cross-sell products and know the layout of the store. Make suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions based on their individual needs. Upsell products. Learn product features, keep up with the latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide customers with product knowledge and specifications. Use a Point-of-Sales system for processing cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, and credit/debit card transactions, including accurate cash handling and returning the correct amounts to customers. Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation. Inventory: Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. May participate in periodic inventories. Responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory. Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects, tasks, and managing merchandise and inventory. Dependability: Adhere to the assigned work schedule and provide accurate and complete follow-through on work assignments. Supervisory Requirements: Provide effective leadership, demonstrating the ability to direct, train, and motivate associates, while setting a positive example. Responsible for providing coaching and feedback in a timely and professional manner. Provide direction, work assignments, and training to sales associates; give input to the Department Manager on associate performance. May open and close locations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Product Knowledge: Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise. Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features. Experience: 1-2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management, including proper telephone etiquette. Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios. Must be able to make change in American monetary units. Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently. Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win-win situations. Physical Demands / Work Environment: This position involves constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location. Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service. Work Hours: Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications: General Experience: 1 year of responsible experience in clerical office work or retail sales, in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. Specialized Experience: 1 year of progressively responsible experience in retail sales, performing the principal duties associated with the position to be filled. Substitution of Education for Experience: Study completed at a college, university, or junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience. At any level, specialized experience may be substituted for the required general experience. Additional Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate through their work experience or training that they possess, or have the potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision.
