Job Summary: This is supervisory work managing the fleet services operations at the Sunnyhill Field Station in Umatilla, FL.

Job duties include:

Supervises and manages the daily activities of the fleet service operations; supervises and manages fleet staff on operations, maintenance and repair of all assigned vehicles, heavy equipment and other fleet assets; inventories and maintains accountability of all assigned fixed assets. Assists the Bureau Chief in the development and implementation of the budget for fleet services operations, maintenance, and safety programs for the Sunnyhill Field Station fleet shop.
– Supervises subordinate personnel in the daily operations of the Sunnyhill fleet shop; monitors usage of inventory and adjusts stock levels, stock groups, and other requirements as necessary; supervises daily receiving, disbursement and shipping of supplies and materials; identifies supplies and materials to be maintained in the warehouse for continuity of operations with Bureau Chief assistance; supervises maintenance of records and reports; supervises administrative procedures for assigning material and supply numbers to new warehouse material according to specification, and enters into database.
– Provides support to Bureau Chief for contractual services including, bid review and selection, compliance and reporting; and prepares cost/benefit analyses and cost comparison analyses for vehicles and equipment maintenance, repair parts, supplies and recommended replacement as well as other related issues.
– Develops long-term (5-year) plan for major overhauls and rebuilding of equipment; develops 90-day work plans and activities schedule and performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to: Communicate and work well with others as a team; endure harsh outdoor environments in uncomfortable/extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and work independently in remote locations; lift and/or move equipment; maintain a priority of safety, lead, make effective, consistent, and defensible decisions in the field.

Position requires the use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and fleet software used to enter and track work orders and parts.

Minimum Qualifications

:

A high school diploma or G.E.D. and five years experience in fleet operations; one of which must be leading a project team, coordinating activities of a workgroup or serving as a team lead and a valid Florida Class A Commercial Driver License with Tanker N endorsement or the ability to obtain within one year from date of hire.

Formal education may substitute for required experience.
