The Central Service/Sterile Processing Department (CS/SPD) plays a key role in how our operating rooms care for our patients as a whole team relies on these caregivers to successfully set up the operating room. As a CS/SPD Services Assistant, you will be responsible for testing equipment, running diagnostics, pulling case carts, putting away surgical supplies and providing dispatch services.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 3:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Run daily diagnostic reports and conduct equipment tests.

Retrieve pull sheets and follow step-by-step instructions when pulling and recording case carts.

Sock and rotate supplies and equipment.

Deliver, retrieve and return case carts and other supplies to designated areas.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform duties while standing, sitting, stooping, and reaching for prolonged periods of time; ability to lift instrumentation and linen packs weighing 25 pounds on a continual basis; manual dexterity sufficient to perform basic functions of position; ability to push, pull, and navigate carts weighing up to 200 pounds; and possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
