LA Product Development Engineer. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Akron, OH. Establishing technical objectives and helping select projects and coordinating work efforts. Exhibits an awareness of the relationship between technical projects and the business impact they will have on the company. Utilizing project management strategies, tactics and tools to plan, organize, monitor, and control technical work, while ensuring efficient utilization of resources to achieve project objectives. Focusing work on the critical path for success. Running applied projects from initiation through plant release according to the product roadmap and Gate 2 objectives. Collaborating with peers and with other functions to provide technical solutions to problems of medium to high complexity to promote internal and external customer satisfaction through new products and technologies. Coaching other members of the team on efficient and effective problem-solving methodologies, project workload management, and technical communications.
Requires: BS degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or related. Requires 5 years of progressive, post grad exp. as Design Engineer, Development Engineer, Product Engineer or related role supporting Advance concept product design and analysis for the automotive industry. 5 years of exp. identifying and developing new material technologies that address current and future business needs of the organization. 5 years of exp. supporting tire technology and high-performance application development. 5 years of exp. translating product performance requirements such as traction, handling, and durability into chemical and physical property requirements of materials, and then developing tire compounds which demonstrate performance in tire applications. Need project management degree, certification or 5 years of project management experience.
