Salary Range: $15-20 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:The Department of Innovation and Technology (IandT) seeks part time interns to support South Bends goals via technology, data, and digital transformation.

Interns can be selected for one of several specialization tracks:

– Data. These interns will help City teams analyze data for decisions and operational excellence, visualize data, and assist with data integrity and governance tasks.
– Information Security and Business Continuity. These interns will help City teams develop business continuity plans, cybersecurity awareness materials, and incident preparation activities.
– Digital. These interns will help City teams automate processes, develop and test prototype solutions, and leverage digital tools to improve government outreach and services generally.

The internship is in the Citys Department of Innovation and Technology (IandT). IandT is an award-winning, nationally recognized government technology team. Candidates who thrive on this team have a good attitude, a customer service mindset, and a love of learning.???

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Develop documents, memos, and other materials as requested by supervisor
– Research city processes for the purposes of data work, product development, and/or business continuity planning
– Ideate on innovations regarding process improvement, automation, and policy changes that relate to the project assigned
– Delivery high quality projects

– High school degree or equivalent
– Relevant certifications and/or associate degree training hours preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed in office settings, with moderate inside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office. Entire office is smoke free.

This position is based in South Bend, Indiana. This position is eligible for hybrid work in the Department of Innovation and Technology, as long as engagement with city teams and work performance remains high.
