Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Perform skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul electromechanical and solid-state electrical equipment using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety
Layout and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standards
Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for facilities and equipment
Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers
Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety, and environmental regulations
Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy
Skills
Construction and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment
Use of electrical test equipment, meters, and tools
Assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical wiring and fixtures
Diagnosis and repair of malfunctioning systems and components
Connection of wires to circuit breakers and transformers
Inspection of electrical systems for hazards and compliance

Installation of new electrical and electronic equipment according to codes
