Summary

o Responsible for the overall Operation & Maintenance of the plant and plant staff for the coordination of the activities relating to safety, quality, production, delivery and maintenance of the Concrete Batch Plant.

o The New Lock at the Soo Project for the US Army Corps of Engineers located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI (projected to complete in Year 2029)

o This role will be located onsite at the Construction Project site located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI

· Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

o Responsible for Material Inventory, Ordering, Tracking, Scheduling of Materials required to produce concrete (Spare Parts/Equipment, Coarse Aggregates, Fine Aggregates, Cement, Slag, Flyash, Admixtures, etc.)

o Plant Production and Tracking Records

o Responsible for quality production of Concrete as required per Specification Requirements

o Scheduling review and forecasting of planned concrete pours to properly plan personnel, equipment and material needs to support the Construction Schedule.

o Competency of projects mix designs, the components and testing requirements of each mix.

o Competency of target slump, air, fresh temperatures and compressive strength requirements of each mix design.

o Responsible for delivery to point of placement for Concrete on the Project Site.

o Coordination with Supporting Placing Equipment (i.e. Mixer trucks, Agitor Trucks, Telebelt, Pump Trucks, Creter Cranes, bucket placements, etc.)

o Responsible to understand operation of all systems of operation.

o Preventative & Routine Maintenance of the Plant

§ Tracking of Maintenance Records

§ Troubleshooting and Repair of mechanical, pneumatic, and water systems of the Plant

§ Conveyor inspection and maintenance

§ Sump inspection and maintenance

§ Screen inspection and maintenance

§ Electrical needs (including lighting)

§ Water pump inspection and maintenance

§ Greasing and lubrication

o Supervision of Batch Plant Personnel to include Operation and Maintenance Staff.

o Ensure all safety guidelines are followed. (OSHA, EM-385, KAT Safety Policies)

o Implementation of Preventative and Routine Maintenance for the Facility

o Implementation of LOTO Procedures for the Facility

o Implementation of Confined Space Procedures for the Facility

o Implementation of Winterization Shutdown and Spring Startup Procedures for the Facility

o Stormwater and Air Quality requirements of the Facility

o Operate the plant within the general operating and production guidelines for the plant as determined by management.

o Oversee appearance and housekeeping of the plant and grounds area.

o Other duties as assigned by Management.

· Education, Credentials and Experience:

o Experience with Concrete Production Plant Operations (specifically Central Mix Plants).

o Ideal candidates would possess 5 years of experience with major heavy civil construction projects.

o Experience with the Erie Liberty batching system a plus

o Experience with multi-mixer batch plants a plus

o NRMCA certification a plus

o ACI credentials a plus

o Candidate must be able to work at height

o Candidate must be able to climb ladders

o High School Diploma or GED equivalent

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o Ability to work in concert with Project Team, QA/QC, Subcontractors, Engineers, and Client

o Project Site Access does require that of a successfully completed Federal Background Check
