Preferred Qualifications:Experience with a focus on CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and student information systems in a higher education setting

Experience leading in data analysis, reporting, and data integration projects in the context of admissions.

Experience collaborating with various stakeholders to improve and optimize systems.

Prior experience managing teams responsible for systems development, maintenance, and optimization, in admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management.

Experience managing complex IT projects from inception to completion, especially those involving systems upgrades or new technology implementation.

Job Description:

The Office of Admissions at Iowa State University is seeking a Senior Manager of Information Technology Systems. The senior manager oversees the Admissions Systems team and is a key strategic leader in the Office of Admissions. The senior manager leads and directs development and maintenance of admissions systems, administration, and development of the university’s student-focused instance of Salesforce CRM, data analysis and reporting within the Office of Admissions, and student search. The senior manager works closely with campus Information Technology Services and the Office of Student Information and is responsible for understanding the key functionality of admissions systems and business processes for the purpose of not only overseeing the supporting teams, but in providing guidance to colleges, departments, and programs in how to optimize the tools available through admissions systems in conjunction with recruitment efforts, programs, and communication. The selected candidate must work well under pressure and be committed to supporting the campus community throughout recruitment, admission, and transition processes. Example of Duties• Develops, modifies, and implements short and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architectures, network systems, and applications infrastructure.• Implements and maintains the policies and goals for the IT department.• Conducts research and recommends the selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies.• Reviews system requirements and business processes.Level Guidelines• Provides input into annual departmental objectives and action plans• Accountable for achievement of key annual objectives for a department• May provide input into institution policy within area of functional expertise• Responsible for functional output of a department or work team• Manages subordinate staff• Has full management responsibility for direct reports, specifically the authority to hire, fire, and counsel• May provide input to the budgeting process• Requests approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope• May provide input into financial decisions that impact department or work area
