This internal communications role is responsible for leading global communications strategies for enterprise technology initiatives aligned to company priorities, technology services and infrastructure change management, cybersecurity awareness and internal technology and cybersecurity incident response.

This role will manage development of impactful company-wide messages that instigate action and/or behavior change, provide communications guidance, approve content and own communications strategies, plans, and metrics in support of technology change management plans and cybersecurity awareness initiatives. Also responsible for building and maintaining solid partnerships with assigned internal Technology partners to better develop, coordinate, direct and facilitate strategic communications aligned to company priorities and initiatives.

The role will be responsible for developing and managing holistic, integrated campaigns that support enterprise technology priorities and programs, working closely with Optum Technology and Enterprise Information Security leaders and project teams, Communications partners, and key business stakeholders across UHG, Optum and UHC.

Primary Responsibilities:

Serves as communications governance and content approval and execution strategy lead across all enterprise communications channels for major technology initiatives

Manages communications strategies for large-scale end-user technology change management plans and enterprise technology programs and initiatives

Provides strategic counsel on communication opportunities aligned to priorities

Counsels OT and EIS stakeholders on appropriate channel for message and manages execution of deliverables

Partners with OT project teams and enterprise Comms partners to ensure distribution lists and filters are appropriate and accurate

Provides communications and brand oversight and counsel for Optum Technology on Sparq, online technology services sites, and technology communications toolkits

Collaborates closely with broader Optum Tech Communication team, partnering to deliver the best surround-sound campaigns reaching employees

Manages editorial planning and calendar for enterprise technology communications

Required Qualifications:

7 years of strategic internal communications experience

Proven ability to develop and execute on deliverables in communications plans

Advanced writing and editing skills with a proficiency in Associated Press style

Ability to break down complex IT concepts into simpler terms that can be understood by a non-technical audience

Experience working for a large, matrixed organization and managing enterprise-wide employee communications strategies, awareness campaigns and execution across diverse businesses and job functions

Works well in high-pressure, deadline-centered activities

Ability to collaborate across teams and function, with experience working in a matrixed organization

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies

Responds well to real-time feedback and pivots to meet evolving expectations/deliverables

A high level of initiative, work ethic and the ability to balance multiple assignments

The ability to work with different management styles and levels

Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing communications guidance and execution for incident response

Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships and provide strategic counsel

Experience with Adobe products and Opal

Knowledge of the health care industry

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
