We are the Web and Work Experiences team within M365 Core , focused on creating the best AI Copilot Web and Work Experiences for commercial users. Our team develops engaging, modern chat solutions for information workers and enterprise users, delivering exceptional Web and Work Copilot experiences. Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist with a strong Data Scientist with a passion for analyzing large scale data to identify insights to grow business and improve user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across Microsoft, leverage state-of-the-art technology and contribute to exciting products like Copilot.
Build a solid understanding of the business and the metrics that drive performance
Process and analyze big data using Statistical, Machine Learning modeling, to identify opportunities, patterns, pain points in users’ journey and provide insights to the leadership teams to help in driving user experience and product growth.
Research, propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance our tools, processes, and analytics capabilities.
Collaborate with PMs, data scientists, developers and partner teams.
Work with Product teams on roadmap, define KPI, forecast and measure product goals.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1 years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
OR Masters Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3 years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)o OR Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5 years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results))o OR equivalent experience.
2 years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models in real-world scenarios.
Experience working with both structured and unstructured data.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying updated on the latest industry trends.
Ability to mentor and guide data analysts, providing technical oversight and ensuring best practices.
Solid analytical skills with a track record of solving complex problems.
Knowledge of big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
Experience in Chat bot domain, online service, app, or Web site for millions of users.
Data Science IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 – $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 – $250,200 per year.
