Criminal Justice Instructor
FORT PECK COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Teach a combination of Criminal Justice courses at the freshman and sophomore curriculum levels,
in accordance with the established course outlines of record and consistent with college standards.
This includes organizing instruction to achieve course and program learning outcomes, selecting
textbooks, organizing and conducting laboratories, instructing through lecture, demonstrations and
field experiences.

CJUS 209 Will, Probate, and Property Law

CJUS 231 Criminal Evidence
CJUS 275 Constitutional Law, the U.S., and Fort Peck Constitutions
CJUS 291 Special Topics — Tribal Bar Exam
LEG 184 Legal Ethics
LEG 186 Intro to Legal Research
LEG 187 Legal Research & Writing I
LEG 189 Criminal Procedure
Duties:
– Advise thirty to forty students, 10 to 15 hours monthly, during the academic year.
– Assist in curriculum development in the fields.
– Participate in the college faculty senate and college committees (program learning outcomes) as assigned.
– Participate in faculty evaluation activities, service learning and student retention initiatives.
– Keep up-to-date on Criminal Justice and educational issues (including techniques of
Effective learning).
– Teaching some online classes.
Qualifications:
– A Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from an institution accredited by an accrediting
agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
– &;Documented successful college teaching experience in Criminal Justice.
– Related professional experience in American Indian communities.
– Demonstrated ability to relate to students and staff of varied ethnicity, especially American
Indian students, and a commitment to a culturally diverse educational environment.
– Appreciation and respect for students (including adult students) and their role and
responsibility in the learning process.
– Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and mission of the tribal community college.
– Experience in using technology to teach online classes.
– Experience in using Learner Management System (LMS).
