Job Description

The Grant Administrator, under general supervision, provides support for processing and submitting grant proposals that that comply with sponsor guidelines and Texas A&M University System and Tarleton member policies. Coordinates with sponsors to address questions to ensure accurate and timely proposal submissions. This is an in-office position located in Stephenville, TX. Standard working hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Responsibilities:

30% Assists faculty/staff with grant proposal preparation, workload allocations, internal review routing, and submission to grant sources to meet application deadlines. Track submissions, complete pre- and post-award follow-up tasks, and update office productivity statistics. Communicate research compliance requirements to PIs; collect, maintain, and update records. Serves as liaison between faculty and TAMU Sponsored Research Services to improve level of service to faculty.

10% Assists faculty with grant proposal budget development and cost clarification, communicate frequently with post-award financial specialist.

30% Facilitates management of external funding awards as liaison between the investigator, sponsor, and post-award financial specialist.

10% Schedules and leads professional development sessions for faculty concerning topics relevant to external funding and research

15% Supports marketing and promotion of RIED initiatives, including maintenance of Pre-Award web pages as well as organizing and collating the publication of the research magazines and brochures.

5% Assists RIED with other duties as assigned and based on the needs of the division.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years of related experience in contract and grant administration in a University or state agency setting or three years experience as a Grants Administrator I in the TAMU System.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
