Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, part of Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing Level One Emergency Department. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Monday thru Friday (8-hour days) no call, weekends, or holidays

The Wound Ostomy team stages all pressure injuries.
We see patients with the following wounds:
vascular ulcers
some arterial ulcers
Diabetic foot ulcers
Fistulas & Peg Tube issues
Moisture Associated Skin Damage (MASD)
Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD)
We have Physical Therapy Wound Team that takes care of:
Negative Pressure (VACs)
Wound Debridement
Compression Wraps
Burns

Job Summary
The Wound Care Registered Nurse assesses patients, establishes diagnoses, and creates healthcare plans. They observe and evaluate patient responses. This role ensures patient safety during healthcare journeys by understanding patient needs and assisting with encounters.

You need a good understanding of nursing standards and patient care.
Understanding legal and ethical considerations is important for success.
Good communication skills are essential.
You must be a problem solver who can quickly detect and react to changes in patients.
You will also need to know how to use computers and medical software.

Qualifications
Completion of an associates degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
BSN Preferred
A minimum of (3) three years of relevant nursing experience.
Holding an effective Registered Nurse licensure
Must have Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting the job.
Must have 1 year minimum dedicated RN Wound Care Experience - Inpatient or outpatient
Must be proficient applying NPWT (Wound VACs)
Must be proficient performing conservative sharps debridement – certification preferred
Must be skilled in application of compression leg dressings
Experience in ostomy care and education
Current certification highly preferred in at least one of the following: CWOCN, CWCN, CWS or WC
