Overview
As a Geotechnical Engineer Field Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), youll be part of a highly trained and experienced team that performs observations and testing during construction of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. Construction activities that youll monitor and test include earthwork, underground utilities, building foundations, masonry, pavements and structural concrete (i.e., walls, foundations, floor slabs, sidewalks, curbs, basements, etc.). We will provide the training and resources for you to obtain certifications necessary and support advancement in your career at CEC.
Qualifications
High School education – (associate/bachelor degree(s) are welcomed).
Valid drivers license for travel to project sites using our trucks or your vehicle with reimbursed mileage.
An ability to work independently at construction sites and communicate with construction foreman/superintendents, with support from a CEC project engineer.
Experience with construction projects is not required but preferable.
Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
Detail oriented and able to record observations and test results in concise field reports.
Computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to learn and obtain various certifications and training including:
Nuclear Density Meter Safety Training Certification.
OSHA Construction Safety Training.
NICET, ICC and ACI Certifications.
