THE POSITION

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team at the Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services,Youth Forestry Camp 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will be responsible for performing semi-skilled and skilled work in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. This work will take place both indoors and outdoors in order to maintain the safety of the buildings and grounds for residents and staff. You will also have the opportunity to work in the waste water treatment plant, where you will receive training to become a certified operator. Your work will play a crucial role in keeping the buildings and grounds safe and functioning properly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment (37.5-hour work week)
Work hours normally consist of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours and schedule may vary based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
An employee in this position will be considered an essential employee who will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or

Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Drivers License.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
