Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with direct access to the Executive Chairman and Founder, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing a cohesive strategic marketing vision and execution plan to drive stronger brand awareness, voice, reach, relevance, impact, influence, conversion, and analytics, to achieve AccuWeathers objectives of growth, profitability, and visibility globally.
The Head of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing, planning, organizing, staffing and executing all marketing activities. This includes advertising and promotional campaigns, websites, branding strategies, marketing of new products and services, public relations, event marketing, social media, and CRM programs. The Head of Marketing will play an important collaborative role working cross functionally with members of the Executive Team. This person will have the key responsibility for developing consistent messaging and training to increase the effectiveness of sales efforts, partnerships, and channels.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Develop cohesive marketing point of view for US and international execution across Go-To-Market, Sales, and Marketing channels to deliver on brand promise across AccuWeathers portfolio, including:
Digital Media Advertising and Partnership Acquisition
Enterprise Solutions (AccuWeather for Business)
TV, Radio, Newspaper Businesses
The AccuWeather Network
Partner with the Business Development and Strategic Partnerships team to build proactive growth platforms based on qualitative and quantitative user insights/data, segmentation, and journeys
Leverage marketing mix holistically to drive customer acquisition & retention while improving overall efficiency and consistency across:
Advertising
Owned and Earned Digital Demand Generation
PR & Corporate Communications
Event Marketing
Promotional Programs
Sales Collateral and RFP responses
Partner with cross-functiona leaders across sales, business development, product development, and IT to drive successful new product launches
Improve marketing programs to support AccuWeathers critical partnerships to increase brand reach
Improve the presence and influence of Executives and Board Members to help support brand and reputational objectives through content marketing and thought leadership strategies on appropriate social channels across business lines
Identification of trends and innovation
Manage vendors and agencies and coordination with internal staff functions
Develop and prioritize plans for international expansion and growth
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Marketing or a similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. An MBA in Marketing is preferred.
Demonstrated experience growing a brand and helping maximize company revenue
Strong creative insight and ability to inspire others to share his/her creative vision
Proven ability to work with and influence executives at the highest levels
Hands on leader that is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the details
Deep understanding of and substantial experience with Digital Media required
Ability to assess talent and build high-performing teams a must
Previous experience leading a successful and creative marketing team
Demonstrated ability to put strategic vision into motion with a bias for action
Experience with analytics and measurement methods, and the ability to use market research and analysis to drive and support strategic decision making
Proven ability to develop advertising and promotional programs and campaigns
Must have strong communications skills both oral and written
Must have experience in the PR and communication space – managing outside Agencies of Record is beneficial
Pay Transparency:
State College, PA: $200,000 – $210,000 annual bonus opportunity
New York, NY: $245,000 – $255,000 annual bonus opportunity
