THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Environmental Planner 2. This position is perfect for those passionate about community service and environmental planning. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will lead the Strategic Environmental Management Program (SEMP), with a focus on ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This entails cultivating and sustaining a comprehensive understanding of the SEMP. Additionally, you will facilitate the execution of the districts SEMP management team and oversee the county SEMP teams and auditing groups.
You will engage in necessary training to uphold environmental designations, certifications, and to enhance your ability to assess environmental impacts related to transportation projects. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing compliance with environmental laws and regulations, as well as aiding in the development of scopes of work, advertisements, and agreements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after successful completion of a probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 1; or
Five years of progressive professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
A Masters degree in planning or one of the environmental sciences and two years of progressive professional environmental planning experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
