Description:

Manager notes:

– First contractor for this team

– develop devices such as laptop boxes, remote controls, TV. – deal with the software for the remote controls and inside the TV boxes that talk to the remotes.

– TVs have 3 microphones in them to catch someone speaking treat like an Alexa device. Need to take in the audio from those microphones, clean up the voice, etc.

– Need to adapt to the new microphones – involves algorithmic work.

– Goal is to eliminate the remote control but not there yet.

– DSP – Digital System Processing? Using DSP algorithms that do not rely on ML.

– Want to bring someone in who has ML and DSP skills.

– Day to day responsibilities: algorithm development using Matlab, python and tensorflow on the ML side, start out with research activity to figure out what the industry is doing with multiple microphones and decide which techniques/technologies to pursue, implement in Matlab, narrow down is this the right solution, etc. Test to ensure it can run on the TV/box devices. That requires C programming.

– Would be good if this person has experience or knowledge on how to convert to C programming and run on a device.

– This team is onsite Tues-Thursday in Philadelphia

Job Description:

Responsible for developing speech enhancements algorithms for use in multi-microphone far-field applications such as a voice assistant. Experience with acoustic spatial signal processing is desired including techniques such as acoustic beamforming source localization blind source separation and noise reduction. Deep machine learning experience is a plus.

This position typically requires a masters degree in electrical engineering and more than 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Technical creativity is required. The ability to study existing techniques and subsequently enhance and adapt these techniques to meet the needs and constraints of our products is critical.

The candidate will be involved in the process of reducing an algorithm to practice in software for use in a real-time application. The candidate will also be involved in testing algorithms and comparing test results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in electrical engineering

Good communication skills

8 years of experience in speech and audio algorithm development

Programming in C MATLAB. Python is a plus

Experience developing real-time audio processing software
