2nd Shift Machine Operator Thin Slice

Summary
The purpose of this position is to keep various machines in Slice Breast department running by performing general maintenance (problem solving) in order to keep the product flowing to the appropriate belts, assigned by management. Usually works five to six days a week; hours and overtime vary due to production need, generally 4:30 pm – 3:00 am.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Set up and maintain all machines to reach OEE standards.
2. Maintain quality standards with Ossid overwrapped trays.
3. Perform daily PMs working with Multicraft tech to keep machine running at OEE standard.
4. Maintain basic equipment conditions such as cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, and maintain proper alignment.
5. Work with process techs and multi-craft techs to ensure that all machines are working at best case scenario.
6. Minor repairs as needed.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but preferred.
Experience Requirements
External: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
Internal: 6-12 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Minimum of 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries.
Experience Preferred
Experience in protein processing/manufacturing preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment:
Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
