Senior Business Manager – Pre-Hire Talent Strategy

About the organization:

The Talent Acquisition team sits within Enterprise Human Resources and is responsible for bringing in world-class talent to Capital One. On the Talent Acquisition Assessment & Analysis team, we apply strategic thinking, advanced analytical techniques, and experimental research to optimize pre-hire talent decisions. The team is comprised of Business Analysts and Industrial/Organizational Psychologists and partners closely with LOB Accountable Executives, recruiting leaders, and other analyst teams to support both Students & Grads and Professional talent acquisition.

As a Senior Business Manager you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to solve open-ended, complex questions about how we should source, select, and convert top talent. You will work closely with HR partners and senior executives to shape talent policy, automate real-time data and improve talent decision-making. You will lead a team of analysts responsible for high-impact projects that optimize hiring outcomes, such as:

Developing analyses and models that help Capital One recruiters identify great talent to source

Using data and experimentation to optimize the candidate selection process in partnership with Industrial/Organizational Psychologists

Designing new ways to understand and measure interviewer quality

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership: Manage and develop a team of analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates throughout the organization with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One

Strategy consultation: Partner with our clients to identify high impact opportunities to transform the associate experience, conduct analysis, and share insights that inform solutions

Design: Drive and build key programs and analytics solutions for our partners, including measurement strategy, attribution modeling, and automated insights

Experimentation: Partner with clients to design experiments to understand key drivers of candidate and associate behavior

Insights & analysis: Analyze the impact of our programs and combine those insights with the latest thinking in organizational science to help our clients make data-driven, informed decisions

Business communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, including visualization skills (i.e., able to “tell the story” and highlight key insights in a clear and concise manner that is easily understood by stakeholders)

Results focus: Drives for results and achieves important goals applying strong organizational skills and detail orientation, even amidst ambiguity

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis

At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis

At least 1 year of experience in people management

At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

5 years of experience in quantitative analysis

5 years of experience in qualitative analysis

2 years of experience in people management

2 years of experience in product development

2 years of experience in financial modeling

2 years of experience in economic forecasting

2 years of experience in project management
