General Plant Technician

Incorporated in 1992, Southern Hens is a fully integrated poultry processing company engaged in the processing and distribution of fresh, frozen and canned RTE poultry products. Southern Hens operates three plants at its headquarters in Moselle, MS and employees 900 team members. Southern Hens has a long history of targeted growth and training and promoting team members to achieve corporate and personal professional goals.

Primary Duties:

·         Responsible for stocking, issuing, signing in and out supplies.

·         Responsible in charging out employee and plant supplies and equipment.

·         Keeping uniforms, gloves, and other articles washed, dried, folded, and hung during shift.

·         Responsible for maintaining the break areas are in a clean and orderly manner.

·         Responsible for maintaining rest room areas are in a clean and orderly manner.

·         Responsible for maintaining supply / laundry room is in a clean and orderly manner at all times.

·         Responsible for supply room security during shift, and employee supply sales.

·         Responsible in ensuring the USDA offices and work areas are cleaned, mopped and the trash disposed of on a daily basis. 

·         Maintains sales slips and inventory reports accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.

·         Complete and maintain vending machine refund slips and employee vending machine refunds.

·         Ensure boxes are broken down and disposed of properly.

·         Ensure all lockers are open and clean weekly.

Educational Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or GED 

Essential Functions:

·         Ability to speak, see, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, grasp, lift, and stand.

·         Ability to lift and stack materials in boxes, up to 25 — 35 pounds.

– Ability to work safely.
