Evaluates, and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions.
Effectively use verbal and written communications.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Perform sweeping, cleaning duties as necessary.
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
Operate and maintain manual lathe and milling machines.
Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of job.
Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor/major damages.
EDUCATION:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent, trade certificate and minimum of 2 years of machinist work experience.
Preferred: Vocational school or apprenticeship
SKILLS: Required
and follow direction. Mathematical skills and analytical abilities. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds continuously throughout the shift. Work involves lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting. Strong commitment to safety a must, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to multitask and prioritize task, self-motivated, work with minimal supervision, good written & verbal communication skills, good work ethic, analytical in nature, strong problem solver, and good trouble shooting skills. Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Preferred: Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable): This positon requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Mechanical Aptitude a plus. While performing the essential functions and suites of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands & arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.
