DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Safety, Health and Environmental Engineer in our Huntington, IN, location.
What do you get to do in this position?
Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs and policies
Conduct regular facility wide inspections and audits to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
Provide training and guidance to employees on safety protocols and best practices
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures
Stay updated on environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensure organizational compliance
Participate in the design and review of facilities and processes to ensure safety and environmental standards are met
Develop emergency response plans and participate in emergency drills and exercises
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
Bachelors degree in Safety, Security, Engineering, or related field.
2-4 years of experience in safety, security, engineeiring or related field
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in EHS
Aware of ISO environment regulations and principles, workers compensation and injury management.
Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, State and Federal safety rules and regulations.
Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship
Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus
