Machine Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Machine Operator will run specific extrusion
equipment and the associated cell machinery as well.The Machine Operator
is responsible for keeping the equipment supplied with extrusion
feedstock, monitoring the operation of all cell equipment, and ensuring
that the extruded product meets all appropriate quality
specifications.This person will work with the Production Mechanics and
manufacturing management to solve any issues with machinery and
products. First Shift: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. Supply
feedstock to the extrusion equipment and ensure that a steady supply of
material is available Complete appropriate paperwork for each lot of
production before it leaves the extrusion area Accurately report daily
extrusion totals for all designated lines Maintain a clean and safe
work environment at all times Monitor machine operations and observe
lights and gauges to detect malfunctions. Adjust machine components to
regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions,
and flow of materials or ingredients. Press control buttons to activate
machinery and equipment. Clear jams, and remove defective or substandard
materials or products. Notify supervisors when extruded filaments fail
to meet standards. Review work orders, specifications, or instructions
to determine materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings,
and adjustments for extruding, forming, pressing, or compacting
machines. Turn controls to adjust machine functions, such as regulating
air pressure, creating vacuums, and adjusting coolant flow. Move
materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage
and work areas, using work aids such as racks, hoists, and handtrucks.
Activate machines to shape or form products, such as candy bars, light
bulbs, balloons, or insulation panels. Couple air and gas lines to
machines to maintain plasticity of material and to regulate
solidification of final products. Remove materials or products from
molds or from extruding, forming, pressing, or compacting machines, and
stack or store them for additional processing. Complete work tickets,
and place them with products. Install, align, and adjust neck rings,
press plungers, and feeder tubes. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent Have
prior industrial experience Be willing to learn all equipment specific
to the plant operations Have a strong commitment to safety and work
