We currently offer express bus service to and from Downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, and Normandale Community College as well as daily on-demand micro-transit service in our core service area as well as adjacent cities in Carver, Scott, and Hennepin counties. In addition to our regular services, we also offer seasonal services including the Minnesota State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts, and more. The business analyst will be a detail-oriented, analytical, and curious person who loves to dive into the companys financial and operational data and identify opportunities to optimize resource allocation and increase operational efficiencies. This key position will collaborate withthe executive team as well as finance, operations, planning, and IT to develop systems, reports, dashboards, as well as ad hoc analyses. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Data Analysis and Reporting: – Analyze trends from financial and operational data. – Provide ad hoc reporting requests from executive management team – Work closely with technical staff to develop and maintaininternal and public data dashboards – Conduct research, analyze data from various sources (industry benchmarks, etc.), and provide data-driven recommendations. – Assist with quarterly performance reports & analysis for stakeholders. Financial Management and Budgeting: – Utilize statistics, financial and operational data to develop models to forecast revenue, expenditures, and future capital planning needs – Work with finance to ensure budget assumptions align with agency goals. – Monitor project progress and provide management with status updates and reports. Collaboration and Communication: – Work with leadership and executive teamsto ensure the valid collection and reporting of data – Collaborate on transit agency development initiatives, including enhancing existing services. – Clearly communicate complex financial and operational information and analysis results. – Work closely across all departments to ensure the accurate collection and storage of data Performance Management – Monitor performance of KPIs and report on progress toward agency SMART goals – Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and optimize resource allocation – Interpret and present performance management data to the executive team and the Southwest Transit Commission
