About the Unit The Senior Services division at Lakewood Health System includes our 87-bed, Medicare certified skilled long-term care facility as well as two licensed assisted living facilities. Mission for Position Join Our Team as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at the Care Center! Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Were looking for a compassionate and reliable individual to take on the role of Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) at our Care Center, where youll play a vital part in supporting our residents and staff. Duties & Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: As our HUC, you will: File important reports from Lab, X-ray, and other facility areas. Create and maintain new charts for admissions. Ensure resident records are up to date by purging outdated information. Prepare rooms for new residents, including setting up name tags, door tags, and admission checklists. Organize and label discharge charts, sending them to Resident Medical Records. Maintain and update resident labels in charts as directed by the Director of Nursing (DON). Assist with resident appointments and transportation needs. Secondary Responsibilities: In addition to your primary duties, youll provide backup coverage in two important areas: Scheduler Supportfor the Care Center and Assisted Living Facilities: Assist with daily call-in coverage and day-to-day scheduling. Help maintain accurate daily staffing worksheets and handle scheduling tasks in Paycom. Post the daily staffing schedule for the team to see. Business Office Assistant Supportfor the Care Center and Assisted Living Facilities: Post deposits, reconcile bank statements, and assist with resident purchases. Help manage Representative Payee accounts and handle administrative tasks like setting up interviews, typing meeting minutes, and updating quality boards. Assist with timecards, meal ordering, supply orders, and more! This is a diverse and fulfilling role where youll support both residents and staff in a meaningful way. Whether youre assisting with vital records, coordinating schedules, or helping with day-to-day administrative tasks, your work will have a direct impact on the quality of care we provide. Position Type Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. No weekends or holidays. Qualifications Qualifications High school graduate/GED. Prior HUC experience required. Ideal Candidate Pays close attention to detail. Is able to prioritize multiple, competing tasks. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
