Registered Nurse (RN), Pre/Post Procedure – PRN
Hospital Sisters Health Systems (HSHS)
Summary
Schedule: PRN as needed
RN Pre/Post Procedure Unit. Will preop and post-op phase II patients, along with working in the pre-surgical testing clinic calling patients to prepare them for surgery. There is a lot to discuss about the position so the manager will go into great detail during the interview. There are 16 RNs in the pre/post unit. They work closely with the Pain Clinic RNs and PACU RNs as all of these 3 departments are cross trained to work in a least 2 of the departments. Overall, the pre/post procedure team consists of 34 colleagues
Selling Points: the team has longevity, work well together, trade shifts, etc.
Requirements: pre/post-surgical experience is beneficial but not required. Med Surg experience helpful. Must be flexible because they do flex staff according to the OR schedule. If the morning is not busy, they sometimes push staff start times back to accommodate for a busier afternoon and vice versa if the morning is busier than the afternoon
