CVAis currently seeking a Full-Time Overnight Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We seek a team member who shares our core values of compassion, accountability, respect, responsibility, and encouragement. This is a rewarding opportunity supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
– Implement preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care, as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes
– Coordinate care with clinics, outside physicians and hospitals
– Review, manage and train (as required) on health and nutrition
– Administer medications to individuals per physician orders, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the MAR and lack of negative outcomes
– Complete required trainings, as assigned
– Follow up on health-related concerns as identified by the Department of Mental Health RN and CVA Community RNs.
– Complete documentation and filing, per reporting requirements
– Complete the medical sections of the Individual Support Plans and Quarterly Reviews that address health and illness needs and issues
– Document services in accordance with agency policy, and requirements associated with Medicaid and Department of Mental Health Certification and contractual compliance
– Promote empowerment and self-care activities of Individuals, including self-medication, when appropriate
– Assist all Individuals in our care with concern and empathy; respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating with them in a courteous and respectful manner
– Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated
– Assist in the development of plans to ensure that the medical and health care needs of individuals are met, when shift coverage requires
– Ensure appropriate medical follow-up after healthcare appointments
– Provide nursing delegations and trainings related to medical diagnosis, allergies, medication, diet and special emergency plans related to ongoing medical conditions
– Coordinate care with clinics, outside physicians and hospitals, including reviewing lab work
– Complete documentation per reporting requirements
– Maintain communication with other LPNs, Lead Support Professional, Assistant Lead Support Professional, Professional Manager, Community RN, Community LPN and all direct care staff in the program
– Collaborate with a team to coordinate the care of Individuals
– Attend monthly staff meetings for the program
– Assist in vacation and absence coverages for other full- and part-time LPNs supporting ISL programs
– Provide direct physical, personal care to Individuals, including bathing, toileting/changing, physical therapy and repositioning
– Train on advanced nursing skills as required by program needs
– Remain current on clinical standards of practice
– Present a positive image and attitude when representing CVA
Skill and Education Requirements:
– High School diploma or equivalent
– 18 years of age or older
– Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with valid registration as an LPN in the state of Missouri, or a compact licensure state.
– Professional Certification in CPR
– Prior field experience of working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus
Physical Requirements:
– Computer literacy
– Experience with MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook

– Work independently and collaboratively
– Licensed and Insured Driver with reliable vehicle
– Caring, compassionate with an interest in helping others succeed
Staring wage: $22.25/hour more depending upon experience
SHIFTS:Full-Time Overnights (40 hrs. per week) based on the needs of the individuals being served.
