Production Engineer
Outlaw Trailer Conversions LP
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Create /update/organize/standardize all prints.
– Design for manufacturability.
– Participates in Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and develops standards (S.O.P.s)
– Defines and improves manufacturing processes with regards to CAD process, ease of use of prints, and process methods.
– Subject matter expert on designs/layouts/prints of trailers.
MAIN TASKS:
– Creating, updating, and maintaining prints for all models.
– Supports daily needs of manufacturing as an engineering resource.
– Take information/feedback from sales/CEO and translate to layout prints.
– Support continuous improvement events.
– Think-up/create possible new designs on cabinets, layouts, products, and technology to be added into trailers.
– Develop prints for 3D of each trailer, electrical schematics and harnesses, and plumbing schematics.
– Come up with ideas and work with production to make changes for manufacturability of trailers.
– Help drive process improvements.
– Take on direction/projects from General Mgr. and/or Owner/CEO.
REQUIREMENTS:
– Bachelors Degree in Construction Science or Mechanical Engineering (Industrial could be considered also). 2-3 years of relevant experience in housing design or motorhome production/manufacturing a plus.
– Knowledgeable and proficient in CAD systems. Cabinet Vision, Turbo CAD, BSOLID, and Solid Edge.
– Ability to read, understand and create manufacturing drawings.
– Shows evidence of good organization.
– Positive attitude willing to help where needed.
– Team player and able to work with and collaborate well with others.
– If experienced: Demonstrated ability to independently create and implement functional and cost effective processes that meet specification requirements.
– If experienced: Demonstrated and documented ability using economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) to reduce cost of manufactured or assembled product.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
– Spends 50% of time in office environment, 50% in shop. Exposed to possible hazards such as heavy equipment and loud noise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
– Spends 50% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation. Spends 50% of time lifting, pushing, and walking. Some climbing.
