Description
The Nurse Practitioner Clinical Advisor manages clinical services for the
Community Health Nursing Division and provides direct supervision of Nurse
Practitioners and oversight of other clinical staff. This position works
alongside the nurse manager to provide expert guidance and strategic direction
to the Sexual Health Program and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of
high-quality patient care, compliance with grant funding and clinical
regulations, and the implementation of efficient best practices across
clinical operations. This role involves a combination of leadership,
clinical expertise, and operational management.

This position may be located at one of the following Public Health locations:
15400 East 14th Place, Aurora, 80011 and/or 4857 S Broadway,
Englewood, CO 80113.
Duties
Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, serves as Medical
Director of the Title X program and ensures that all clinical protocols,
policies and procedures comply with Title X requirements and align with the
Title X clinical manual, performs regular chart reviews and leads
preparation for Title X clinical audits.
Working closely with the Nurse Manager, serves as a subject matter expert
for all grant activities and deliverables within the Sexual Health Program,
and participates in meetings with funders. May take the lead on some grant
funded projects.
Serves as clinical subject matter expert and reviews and updates all clinical
policies and procedures on an annual basis or as needed. Provides expert
clinical guidance and support to all clinical staff, develops and implements
clinical protocols and standards of care, and leads clinical quality
improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Assesses staff training needs, designs training curriculum and competency
assessments, trains and educates all clinical staff on clinical policies,
procedures, and other clinical topics, fostering a culture of continuous
learning and professional development.
Actively assesses for, identifies, and implements innovative solutions to
improve clinical operations, ensuring the efficient use of resources,
including staffing, equipment, and other resources.
In conjunction with program staff and leadership, support clinical staff in
accessing and utilize electronic health record system. May act as subject
matter expert in certain aspects of data collection, evaluation, and
entry; analyzes clinical data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas
for improvement, using data to drive decision-making and improve clinical
pract
Using the Plan-Do-Study-Act process, uses epidemiological and clinical data
and evidence-based practice to plan and lead quality improvement activities to
improve clinical care and maximize efficiency in clinical flow.
In collaboration with the CMO and nurse manager, leads the implementation of
new clinical programs including the creation of guidelines and algorithms.
Implements and maintains quality assurance over clinical functions including
chart review, training and education and other needed activities. Leads
clinical chart audit process in compliance with ACPH and Title X policy.
Serves as the main clinical consult for nurses and medical assistants when
needed. May serve a lead clinical role for other divisions if needed. Consults
with Chief Medical Officer as needed.
Functions as a clinician in the clinic including providing therapeutic care
for clients under the consultation of a physician where appropriate,
conducting standard examinations of men and women, prescribing appropriate
medication, and providing client education.
Participates in various committees and boards related to program activities
and responsibilities
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Responds, as required, to support public health emergencies,
incidents, and events. Employee participates in all exercises and drills on
emergency preparedness and response, as required. ompletes trainings
identified as appropriate for this level employee and initiates corrective
actions and responses pursuant to Federal, State, and Local laws,
statutes, and regulations.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) from a school accredited by the
National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the American Association
of Colleges of Nursing.
Masters degree Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife from a
school accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or
the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
5 years certified nurse practitioner or certified nurse midwife
3 years of supervisory/management/leadership experience
Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the
requirements of the job will be considered.
Professional Qualifications:
Requires certification as a nurse practitioner or nurse-midwife from
accredited certification agency appropriate to specialty and inclusion on the
Colorado Advanced Practice Nurse Registry
Active license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of
