Description Of Work:
This position is responsible for assisting with the direction of the operating
divisions activities including managing attendance, policy compliance and
discipline.
Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work,
training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of
Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance
review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their
responsibiliti
Assists in implementing work plans, projects, schedules, budgets and
work force utilization.
Works with Legal, Human Resources and Labor Relations regarding employee
relations issues, policies and procedures and ensure adherence to the
current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Participates in grievance
procedures for Transportation Division related issues. Reviews and recommends
disciplinary actions which may involve coaching, corrective action or
termination of represented employees.
Investigates accidents, incidents, assaults and customer complaints. This
includes special attention to public ADA and civil rights matters.
Assists in managing the substance abuse program within the Transportation
Division. Investigates non-compliance testing situations and directs
appropriate disciplinary action.
Coordinates with contracted services to maximize team efforts, improve
consistency and assure professional quality of services to all external and
internal customers.

Qualifications:
Associates Degree or two years of college level course work.
A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a transportation-related
field is required. Experience in passenger transportation is preferred, as
is experience working in a union or collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
environment.
Proficiency in the application of a seniority system, sick leave policy,
workers compensation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ADA,
FMLA and other related policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to use sound judgment.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning,
organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
