Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Instructional Designer position will support and assist the assigned organization responsible for managing field operations, maintenance, and construction of high-voltage electrical transmission system. This organization coordinates present, future, and continuing education training needs for electrical apprentices, electrical crafts trainees, PSC, SPC, Labs, Data Systems and Instrumentation, non-electrical craft apprentices, and fully qualified journeyman and craftsmen of the preceding trades/disciplines. This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA.
Pay range: $31.54 – $35.74

Responsibilities:
Consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and access sensitive information such as Bulk Electric System (BES) Diagrams, equipment descriptions/pictures, specific technical systems operations, and locations to:
Develop courses using established ISD processes.
Create or convert existing technical and safety courses into Web -based Training (WBT) courses using ToolBook and Adobe Captivate, including creating content and questions.
Provide subject matter expertise for special projects, which could include assisting partner orgs with training related efforts.
Create WBT testing/quizzes so scores can be recorded and reported using ToolBook, Captivate or current WBT course development software. Encode HTML script to quiz pages to ensure compatibility with HRMIS.
Following a written script and using the sound recorder on a computer, create voiceovers for WBT courses.
Use a Digital Video Camera and tripod to record training delivery, task steps, how-to videos, etc.
Use Adobe Premier to convert and/or edit previous VHS tapes to digital format for DVD burning or WBT integration purposes.
Use a tape recorder to interview and transcribe Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge to be used in course development.
Update/upgrade WBT courses in a timely manner when notified by content owner of needed changes or when new WBT software drives the need for updates; interface with IT as needed.
Troubleshoot online courses; correct issues as needed.
Write/develop/maintain HTML/SharePoint web pages for the Technical Training website.
Create forms in SharePoint using Nintex.
Maintain existing SharePoint MS InfoPath forms.
Create and maintain Technical Training Center web sites and web page, including the creation of workflows and forms.
Using SnagIt, take snap shots of subject matter; generate catalogs of pictures, quotes, drawings, etc., to be used in course creation in ToolBook, Storyline 360, Captivate, Photoshop, and Adobe Flash.
Create animated pages within the online courses using Adobe Flash.
Pull pictures, graphics, blueprints and photos from multiple sources and touch up, crop, pull apart, and/or otherwise edit graphics using Adobe Photoshop.
Utilize Visio to create drawings for embedding into WBT.
