Garbage Collector – COVER DRIVER

Sunrise Disposal Inc is searching for a dependable self-starter to join our team at Sunrise Disposal. The ideal candidate will have a Class A or B CDL and well-rounded in customer service. We offer an early schedule to beat the heat or cold and have the rest of your day.

JOB PURPOSE:
Collects refuse and recyclables by driving collection vehicles on designated route; hauling, lifting, and loading items; operating compactors and loaders; maintaining safe and healthy operations, and equipment.
DUTIES:
Organizes daily service by reviewing collection route and special instructions; inspecting and testing vehicles and equipment; completing vehicle preparation, such as, checking oil, fuel, water, tire pressure, etc.; obtaining required repairs.
Collects refuse and/or cardboard by driving collection vehicles on designated routes; retrieving, hauling, lifting, and loading items; operating compactors and loading equipment.
Disposes of refuse by driving to landfill; dumping load. Dispose of cardboard by driving to our facility to unload. 
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing operator preventive maintenance; submitting work orders for repairs.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following state and local driving rules, organization standards, and legal regulations; cleaning-up spills.
Documents extra garbage on routes. 
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Lifting, Attendance, Dependability, Independence, Equipment Maintenance, Basic Safety, Good communication and customer service skills. Quality Focus. 
REQUIREMENTS:
Class A or B CDL, USDOT Medical Certificate (med card), Subject to USDOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing rules.
