Job Title: Yard Worker/Load Builder

Job Description

Work outdoors all year long in a lumber yard. Responsibilities include cleaning, yard maintenance, stocking, and helping customers. You will eventually get certified on a forklift and work up. Duties involve loading customers as they come into the yard, installing strapping, bracing, or padding to secure the load, moving inventory, assembling packages, staging orders, load building, and loading trucks for delivery to customer job sites. You will use large sit-down propane or diesel forklifts (6k-11k lbs), hand trucks, dollies, etc. The goal is to be on the forklift as much as possible, frequently jumping in and out of the cab.

Hard Skills

Understanding of construction and ability to quickly identify products

Experience working with lumber/trusses or in a lumber yard or lumber mill

Forklift experience

Order pulling/staging experience

Past driving (DOT/Non CDL) experience is a plus

Soft Skills

Ability to take direction and be teachable

Steady employment and stable job history

Capability of working long days on their feet

Experience working outdoors

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Spokane Valley, Washington.

Work Environment

The work primarily takes place in a large warehouse and lumber yard, outdoors in various temperatures and weather. You will be working around loud equipment and noise.
