Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer ( Network Hardware) to our Strike team in Rancho Bernando, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
This candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing software and hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
Collaborate with engineers to Install, troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.
Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.
Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
Experience deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices
Experience with network information & event management systems (ISE, Solarwinds, LibreNMS)
Experience with software defined networking technologies (NSX)
Familiar with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS)
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, etc.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux based tools
Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Kubernetes and Container networking
Familiar with Agile methodology
Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred
Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Salary Range: $133,000 – $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
