Education Specialist II (RN) – BHS

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
An educator for adults who functions as consultant, resource person, and teacher to all levels of personnel in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of Berkshire Health Systems. Responsibilities include assessing needs, establishing objectives, developing and implementing programs, evaluating outcomes, and maintaining current professional knowledge. The primary responsibility is for the development of staff within BHS and especially in the educators assigned department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years professional experience with health care. Prior relevant experience to assigned area preferred.
Education and Training:
Baccalaureate degree in Education, Nursing or Human Resources. Masters preferred. The area of degree may vary depending on specific assignment
License, Certification & Registration:
CPR Instructor status preferred
RN License – Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
ACLS and PALS Instructor status preferred.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of adult education methods and techniques
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities
Ability to teach all age groups
Registered Nurse if involved in nursing development
