The Finance Office of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is recruiting for aSenior Financial & Budget Analystresponsible for managing financial operations, budgeting, and reporting for a SOM clinical department to include Program in Oncology, University of Maryland Oncology Practice (OAPA) and UMB CURE Scholars Program. Primary Duties Develop and maintain detailed and comprehensive budgets for the UMGCCC All Funds, Practice, Shared Service and faculty groups. All Funds Budget includes UMGCCC institutional awards, grants and contracts, departmental funds (Deans, DRIF, PSC, Split Funded, revolving accounts), and UMB and UMMS Foundation accounts. Develop and maintain simple and complex spreadsheets in order to analyze financial data and prepare accurate and timely financial reports for SOM Oncology administrators, state budget, and financial reporting. Download, compile, categorize, and manipulate the SOM Oncologys financial data by Using Quantum Analytics for quantitative models and formulas. Prepare, and distribute accurate, concise, well-organized, and timely financial reports, presentations, and financial information which may include financial charts, forecasting, and budget vs. actual variance analysis. Work within tight deadlines to analyze budget and financial data and report budget and financial forecasts for areas such as salaries, fringe benefits, indirect cost recoveries, state funds, revolving funds, grants and contracts, fund balances, and other areas as needed. Review and analyze all SOM Oncology assigned financial accounts and expenditures to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in order to make accurate year-end revenue, expense, and surplus/deficit projections. Assist in preparing recommendations. Maintain and manage budget archive and financial data files that can quickly be accessed and manipulated to generate the needed financial information. Support Program in Oncology and OAPA with identifying data or information about a particular issue, discuss anomalies or discrepancies that are observed, and assist with the preparation of various internal or external financial data requests. Hold various roles in HRMS and Quantum. Attend financial meetings and budget training programs as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education:Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or business related field. Masters degree preferred. Experience:Five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, auditing, data management, or data analysis with two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, or auditing. Preferred Experience:High-level working knowledge of Microsoft Excel data manipulation, functions and formulas. Current experience with Oracle Cloud Financials System/Analytics or other higher-education financial database/reporting. Prior experience with research/sponsored programs in higher education. Preferred Certification/Licensure:Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Other:Related experience may be substituted for education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws.
