Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer

Job Description

Our client is an award-winning architecture and engineering firm serving public and private entities across the nation with 26 offices; 9 of them within Michigan. Their Waterford office is seeking a junior-level Civil Engineer. You will perform engineering, construction, and design assignments on various municipal projects in Metro Detroit. Responsibilities include soil and/or concrete observation and testing of water, sewer mains, and manholes, documentation and reports of all construction project activities, and performing analyses and design required on the projects. You will prepare sketches and diagrams for use by field techs and review and check drawings and layouts. Additional tasks include assisting in the preparation of contract/proposals specs and construction cost estimates, reviewing subcontractor shop drawing submittals, performing construction monitoring, and coordinating field activities. You may also assist in transportation engineering within the municipal project sector and work on city park developments, rec centers, and various other types of municipal projects.

Must-Haves

Bachelors in Civil Engineering

2 plus years of civil engineering experience, ideally within Municipal or Transportation sector

CAD Skills (AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or Civil 3D is ideal)

EIT or PE

Bonus

PE license

Project Management skills

Soil and/or Concrete testing experience

ArcView or ArcMap experience

Design of water and sewer utilities experience

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Waterford, Michigan.

Work Environment

8am-5pm. Strong culture, encourage collaboration and celebrations among small offices. They prefer having people in the office the majority of the week but could be flexible for the right person who doesnt need training and could allow 1-2 days remote or to job sites. 31 people in the Waterford office.
