Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

– Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.

– Monitor quality assurance controls during the production process.

– Conduct product analysis, weight checks, and code data verification.

– Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information.

– Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other rules or policies.

– Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

– Inspect infrastructure and equipment and notify management when maintenance is required.

– Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process problems.

– Operate a forklift as needed (certification not required prior to starting).

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s). This is a fully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Hours:

– 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off schedule (work every other weekend, but have every other weekend off).

– Shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am.

Work Environment

This is a production facility that produces yeast. It is a highly automated plant where safety is a top priority. The environment can be very hot, often over 100 degrees in the production room. Employees must be able to handle the heat and stand on their feet for 12 hours. The work environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. Employees will frequently be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, extreme cold/heat, and loud noise levels.
