Schedule: (8 hour shifts) Combination of Day and Evening shiftsFour weekend shifts per month required
Wednesdays from 8:30am-11:30am for team meetings required
Compensation: $20/hr plus Location: 22426 St. Francis Blvd NW, St. Francis, MN 55303
About the job:Responsible for the supervision and management of the residents. Act as a lead on shift and be accountable for the implementation of treatment plans and documentation of residents functioning within the treatment environment. Provide leadership to Residential Counselor team with healthy role modeling, training, feedback, and coaching.
Essentials:
Promote and assists in the development of a wholesome and therapeutic environment
Apply job knowledge to unit duties and tasks
Support and implement individual treatment plans and programs
Plan and participate in all recreational and educational programming for residents
Provides life skills training and management as directed by the needs of the program participant
Plan and coordinate special program functions and free time on the unit
Ensure adequate staff coverage
Provide medication administration to residents, checking med administration for completions
Work within and support the agency’s treatment philosophy
Provide leadership and direction to other Counselors
When required, drive a program participant to events in the organization’s van
Observe, report, and document information regarding resident behaviors and actions
Support and contribute to effective communication among team members, program participants, families and other outside professionals
Assure situation assessment and interpretation is responsive to individual program participant needs
Exercise good judgment when responding to program participant’s needs
Create a safe, therapeutic atmosphere on the unit
Interfaces appropriately and professionally with program participant families and other outside professionals
Assists in the planning, development and implementation of individual program plans
Provide a healthy and appropriate model for residents to emulate
Assures proper medical care is provided as needed for the residents
Well-being checks performed at least every 15 minutes or as designated
When necessary perform restrictive holds
Respond appropriately, as prescribed by program, to crisis situations as they occur
Understand and apply principles of behavior management, as determined by program
Attend weekly meetings and supervision as needed for facility needs and licensure
Assist unit supervisor in providing leadership in team meeting and on the unit

Must be able to work regularly scheduled working hours and overtime when needed

Required Qualifications
BA/BS in Human Services, Social Services or equivalent experience
One-year exemplary performance as a Residential Counselor preferred
Must be 21 years of age
Valid drivers license in good standing
