This position may be covered by a Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) JOB DUTIES: As a Workforce Consultant – Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA), you will: Interview clients to determine eligibility for WIOA Programs Conduct assessments with clients to help determine areas of interests, skill level and aptitudes Provide clients with guidance on appropriate WIOA pathway Arrange, coordinate and monitor program activities for individuals Document appropriate payments, case notes, training plans through EMPLOYMT Coordinate with community training partners, employers and other community resources to enroll client in appropriate training Provide ongoing assistance to client, training partners and employers through regular in person meetings, phone calls or email Work closely with fellow WIOA Program staff and staff supervisor to make group determinations regarding allocation of WIOA monies KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES: If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of interviewing methods and current social and labor market conditions in the area Knowledge of WIOA Program rules and regulations Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, employers and training partners Skill in the use of computers and ability to learn EMPLOYMT Ability to work effectively in a team environment Mind set of exceptional customer service MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including: Combination of relevant education and experience equivalent to 5 years. College coursework includes business administration, counseling, social work and education. Related work experience involving assessing and advising others on personal and professional issues, teaching, case management, networking and working with community resources such as training providers, schools and other community resource agencies. OR Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
