Originates quality FHA, VA and conventional mortgage loans; manages customers through the entire loan process, from data collection and analysis through loan conclusion; and maintains positive client relationships. Administers booking and monitors performance to include review and collection. Develops contacts and networks with area professionals and others to develop referral sources. Participates in business development activities outside of the office, such as realtor open houses and home buyer seminars, and makes contacts through community networking. Complies with all banking laws and regulations.
About You
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Originate quality mortgage loans (i.e., saleable in the secondary market). Set customer expectations and educate them on the entire mortgage origination process. Compile and analyze data for mortgage requests. Ensure all loans are priced within a reasonable tolerance of FSBs normal pricing targets in order to ensure that each customer receives a fair and equitable loan price.
Develop business relationships with referral sources to generate customer leads for loans; referral sources include, but are not limited to realtors, builders, professional groups, and other bank personnel/departments. Maintains contacts and good working relationships to assure a favorable image of the organization and to provide information regarding current loan policies and procedures.
Prepare loan applications and required disclosures in accordance with Bank standards and policies, and within the regulatory time limits. Oversee the entire loan process including, but not limited to, investigating loan program requirements, loan application completion and documentation, processing and closing. Work with mortgage processors and Underwriter to ensure timely and accurate service and to keep the customer and all related parties advised of the status of the application. Coordinate with processing and closing areas to facilitate a prompt and accurate loan closing.
Manage operational responsibilities including monitoring loan pipeline, preparing sales production reports, and attending sales meetings.
Maintain current working knowledge of all Bank loan products, other bank products and services, applicable laws and regulations and related Bank policies and procedures. Cross-sell other Bank products such as deposit accounts, debit cards, credit cards, home equity lines of credit, and second mortgages. Keep abreast of developments in the mortgage industry and the Banks marketplace. Set and achieve challenging personal production and service goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of mortgage loan origination experience. Must be able to provide documentation of personal production loan volume.
Commissioned mortgage loan origination experience is preferred.
A college degree in business, finance, or related field.
Position is required to register and maintain active and current Mortgage Loan Originator registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) as required by law.
Must possess current, valid drivers license.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Working knowledge of standard office equipment. Basic computer skill with working knowledge or ability to learn various office software including word processing, spreadsheets, 10-key, and general computer applications.
Working knowledge of credit structure and appropriate collateral; real estate loans and lending function, practices, and procedures; state, federal and industry banking compliance regulations and guidelines; applicable laws and regulations related to lending function.
Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret bank policies, federal regulations, and other technical information; generate and/or exceed targeted annual production volume; deliver top performance in a fast-paced results-oriented environment; build trust and confidence with others; follow written and oral instructions; and make and defend decisions.

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
Must be capable of up to 50% travel (e.g. 2 weeks or 10 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.
