Job Description

The Associate Director, Data Science (Procurement) is a visionary role focusing on aligning procurement analytics with business strategies, driving the adoption of data-driven decision-making, and enhancing the overall analytical capabilities within the procurement function. This senior position is responsible for leading the development of analytical models, fostering strategic partnerships, and ensuring that analytics effectively enable procurement objectives.

Responsibilities:

Identify future analytics needs and trends, developing capabilities that position the procurement function at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

Establish strong partnerships with category leads to understand and anticipate their analytical needs across business areas – Operations, R&D, Commercial, etc.

Collaborate with category leads and peer teams to define and create analytical products tailored to specific category needs, including definition of the data domain and standards for data enrichment.

Lead the development of advanced analytical models and tools for use cases across procurement, ensuring they effectively meet the needs of category leads and procurement teams.

Collaborate with various procurement stakeholders to integrate analytics into everyday procurement activities and decision-making processes.

Collaborate with the Analytics & Reporting team and Tech & Systems teams to oversee the development of analytics capability and industrialization across procurement on enterprise approved platforms.

Oversee and maintain the governance of advanced analytics processes, documenting lineage and transformation of data products.

Asses and report on the performance of analytics initiatives continually, driving improvements and ensuring they adapt to changing business needs.

Keep pace with advancing data science applications & methods and collaborate with Tech and Systems teams to operationalize solutions enhancing analytical capabilities.

Manage and guide a team of employees, fostering a culture of innovative problem solving and continuous improvement. Build and maintain the team’s capabilities to effectively execute analytics strategy, ensuring team members possess the necessary skills and tools to excel in their roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Health Care, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related business or operations function.

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing senior internal business and functional leaders.

Experience in a strategic role assessing digital readiness and developing personas, use cases, and roadmaps.

Expertise across advanced computations and statistical models (logistic, probabilistic, time-series regression models, Monte Carlo simulations, neural networks, complex machine learning models) and analytical tools (Python, R, Dataiku, SAS, SPSS, Power BI).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

Salary: $133,500 – $253,500
