Job Title: Lab Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our team at a company that produces at-home testing kits. In this role, you will work with urine, blood, and fecal samples. You must be comfortable handling these types of samples. Your primary responsibilities will include opening and sorting samples, collecting samples, inputting information into the lab information system, and verifying patient information. Additional tasks include cutting and coating the kit samples, labeling and prepping samples for the techs, and entering kit data into the system once testing is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
– Receive and quarantine all specimen packages.
– Open and sort specimens.
– Check specimens for acceptance criteria.
– Separate and properly code all non-testable specimens.
– Enter and verify (accession) all specimen information into LIS (Laboratory Information System).
– Assist in strip manufacturing duties, including cutting and preparing strips for coating.
– Receive and log in any deliveries of laboratory supplies.
– Assist in manual entry and verification of laboratory results.
– Complete all other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Supervisor.
– Notify your supervisor of any possible deviations from documented procedures.

This is a contract position with a duration of 3 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Work Environment
Training is Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. After 1-2 weeks, the schedule will shift to Tuesday to Saturday, 12 pm – 8:30 pm. Flexibility is required as help may be needed on a Sunday to Thursday shift from 3 pm – 11:30 pm. The work environment includes an office building with a call center, laboratory, and a clerical center. Dress attire includes long pants, a t-shirt, and closed-toed shoes. Lab coats will be provided when handling specimens.
