The Senior Strategy Analyst wwill be responsible for helping set and execute the strategies and activities of the Strategy & Planning (S&P) consulting organization for Caterpillars Earthmoving Division which is part of the Constructions Industries segment.

Caterpillars Earthmoving Division is responsible for the worldwide design, manufacturing and support responsibility for medium tractor products, motor graders, medium wheel loaders, paving products, and SEM-branded product lines.

Responsibilities:

• Performs complex qualitative and quantitative research for S&P engagements using advanced research knowledge and techniques for a business segment.

• Determines research strategy, leads and oversees data collection and analysis for major S&P consulting engagements for a business segment.

• Performs complex research analyses using sophisticated models and techniques to derive key S&P trends, insights and conclusions for a business segment.

• Works closely with consultants and engagement management to synthesize research findings as S&P recommendations for a business segment.

Develops and critiques business cases, highlighting the advantages and risks of business simulations for critical decisions.

Consulting:

Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Explains assignment requirements, deliverables, costs, and criticalities.

Participates in developing consulting opportunities and keeps clients informed on progress.

Carries out consulting assignments professionally and documents client’s objectives and project scope.

Effective Communications:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Delivers constructive feedback and listens without defensiveness to improve communication.

Makes presentations, writes reports, and avoids inappropriate technical jargon.

Consults stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and oversees operations with strategic objectives.

Consulting Process & Tools:

Knowledge of consulting process; ability to engage in planning sales, conducting research and analysis, finding solutions and preparing recommendations.

Complies with engagement and quality management standards, managing low-risk projects under guidance.

Develops awareness of diagnostic tools, analyzes data to support solutions, and completes deliverables effectively.

Research Analysis:

Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

Interprets and validates new findings, advising on advanced research methods and best practices.

Analyzes published research reports and their implications, implementing and controlling research analysis standards within the organization.

Location: Peoria, Illinois

Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week of onsite, in office work.
