Job Description
The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing technical and engineering services to USN Air Traffic Control Systems. As part of our production and integration team you can help us ensure the integrity and reliability of the equipment, we provide to those who protect us. Right now, we are looking for electrical and mechanical assemblers to join our production and integration team.
In this job, you will
Install, remove, fabricate, repair, and integrate electronic systems, and components.
Disassemble electronic systems for overhaul and conversion, fabricate and/or install/integrate various multi-conductor harnesses, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and other electronic assemblies
Overhaul of gearboxes, install of bearings, gears, and seals.
Verification and testing of sub-assemblies.
Perform work in accordance with established work instructions, schematics, wire lists and engineering drawings. Create new work instructions and provide recommend revisions to existing instructions.
Attend BAE Systems provided training for cable fabrication, circuit card repair, fiber optics and other courses that may be pertinent to tasking.
Use personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection.
Use hazardous materials such as grease, oil, epoxies, and cleaning compounds.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $28.79.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Marys County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Marys County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of related experience
Knowledge and use of common hand tools
Ability to read and understand assembly drawings
Ability to successfully complete BAE Systems training for circuit card repair and cable fabrication certificates as required
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Electrical or mechanical training from a trade school or similar institution
Ability to read schematics and wire run sheets
Experience with the use of precision measuring devices
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-OHara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
