Job Description:
Join our technology leading team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Systems Administrator seeking to expand his/her experience in the IT field by joining our team in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, VA.
The Systems Administration team supports the Air Forces’ Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DOC). Specifically, you will be directly supporting the systems and servers and workstations and databases across a global enterprise. Operating systems for these systems are a mix of Windows, Linux, Unix, and Virtual environments.
The Senior Systems Administrator:
Ensures overall integration and upkeep of all wide area network and enterprise management services to include all servers, workstations, and access accounting functions inherent to network access on the DCGS architecture
Manages mission data distribution servers providing rapid file transfer across the WAN and to external customers
Manages enterprise IT services such as LDAP, NTP, DNS, and HBSS
Administers a host of unique systems and services specific to AF DCGS weapon system
Provides Network management of computer systems within the DOC-East and West
Integrates new projects into the DOC (management architecture) and the DPA
Install, configure, analyze, develop, test, modify and maintain solutions for operating systems, hardware, and application software to meet enterprise management and DPA systems analysis and/or integrations requirements IAW established IT and government standards (e.g. network services, operating system patches, application software patches, and maintenance of software licenses)
Has the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Possesses working knowledge of software licensing.
Possesses working knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Group Policies and DNS.
Experience with the integration of datacenters into existing environments.
Has the ability to harden systems based on STIG’s and SCAP Scans.
Working knowledge of IT security accreditations.
Tracks and maintains all system authentication and accreditation dates for DOC systems
Maintains the security and integrity of databases (i.e. Oracle and others)
Performs user account, group, and home directory maintenance for Unix and Windows workstations and servers, coordinating with DCGS Network Security (IA) as required
Analyzes, develops, tests, and modifies hardware and software solutions to meet the DOC management and DPA systems analysis and/or systems integration requirements
Reviews and provides system engineering change proposal (ECP) input to integration documentation
Reviews integration and operational products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and user standards, and progress IAW established IT and government standards
Defines system objectives and prepares system design specifications to meet DPA and government requirements and to satisfy interface problems
Develops scripts to improve synchronization of data between DOC East and DOC West
Works directly with and supports 480 ISR WG Network Engineers and provides technical solutions and expertise for DCGS-wide system engineering efforts
Supports DOC Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to identify/resolve security related issues
Prepares computer systems and provides support for DOC certification and accreditation
Provides input in support of the Monthly Status Report (MSR) detailing accomplishments and issues in performance of tasks.
KSA
Minimum of seven (7) years of Systems Administration experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Windows/Unix/Linux/VMWare, LDAP, NTP, DNS, and Active Directory.
Possess an IAT Level II Security Plus certification and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). MCSA may be substituted for (4) years of enterprise systems administration experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 – $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
